5 Last Minute Halloween Costumes

by Style and Focus Lifestyle PR

You have no idea what costume to wear for Halloween. One thing is you don't want to spend a lot of money for one night. Here are a few suggestions to creating a costume at the last minute. No matter what you end up wearing I hope you have a Happy Halloween.

1. Daphne or Velma from Scooby-Doo:

These are two of the easiest to put together. For Daphne: Find a purple dress and accessorize it with a light purple headband, a cute handbag, a scarf and cute shoes. For Velma: eye glasses, an orange top or light weight turtle neck with a red mini skirt, orange knee high sock and mary jane's. Maybe you could talk a couple of guy friends into dressing up as Freddy and Shaggy.

2. Lois Lane:

A skirt suit with a cami or button down and heels. Just make up a press pass that features: "Daily Planet Reporter Lois Lane" on it. Accessorize with a pen, cell phone, and small note pad.

3. Hippie:

There's something in your closet that can double as a hippie costume. Accessorize it with headbands, necklaces, bracelets, fringe boots, etc.

4. Magician:

Pair a ladies black tuxedo jacket (with tails) with a fitted vest, bow tie and black shorts or black fitness shorts. No tuxedo jacket, no problem just wear a white button down with a fitted black vest and a bow tie. Accessorize with fishnets, a top hat, a magic wand, a pair of white gloves and pair of black heels or knee high boots. Most items can be found in the costume aisles at Target, Wal-mart, etc.

5. Sexy Spy:

For the sexy spy pair a sleek body suit with a utility belt, boots and sun glasses. You can find CSI type gadgets in the toy department or toy stores.

Namaste: Holistic Select® Empowers Pet Owners To Unlock a Higher Level of Health for Dogs and Cats

Holistic pet food made with nature's power ingredients

TEWKSBURY, Mass., Oct. 21 -- For those who embrace a holistic philosophy to reach a better quality of mind, body and spirit, there is now a dog and cat food available nationwide so they may extend the same approach to their pets: Holistic Select® with Select Actives(TM) - Nature's Power Ingredients.

Designed for the pet owner who believes it is in her power to achieve a healthier and longer life for herself and her family, Holistic Select recipes include unique, functional ingredients found in nature. With Holistic Select, pet parents are empowered to help prevent health problems in their pets before they start. Just as Hippocrates advised long ago, "Leave your drugs in the chemist's pot if you can heal your patient with food."

With their innovative and exclusive Select Actives, Holistic Select recipes have the power to positively impact a dog or cat's health not just today but for the long term too. Select Actives are a combination of enzymes, probiotics, live micro-organisms, botanicals and phytonutrients that work synergistically. Together, these powerful ingredients are known to activate a higher level of health for pets at every life stage -- from puppies and kittens to seniors:

Direct Fed Microbials (DFM) & Enzymes -- To aid in digestion and the absorption of nutrients.

Sequestered Mineral System (or SQM) -- A unique, natural process to get the most benefit from added nutrients.

Phytonutrient PowerPack -- A combination of powerful antioxidants to keep cells healthy and protect the body from stress and disease.

Omega Health® Fatty Acid Blend -- A special blend of Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids which play a vital role in supporting healthy skin and a glossy coat.

A complete line of canned and dry foods for cats and dogs, Holistic Select also carefully selects ingredients like duck meal, cranberries and yucca schidigera that not only satisfy hunger but consider all of a pet's needs, including allergy prevention, a healthy skin and coat, proper digestive health, and clean teeth.

New to the Holistic Select line is a dry food developed just for active and growing puppies: Nourish Puppy Health Anchovy, Sardine & Chicken Meals Recipe. It features the enhanced levels of premium proteins, fat and calories that growing puppies need combined with Holistic Select's unique Select Actives. And with the additional benefit of guaranteed levels of natural DHA that support brain development, puppies dining on Holistic Select Nourish Puppy Health will grow up smart and strong.

With the addition of Nourish Puppy Health, Holistic Select now offers a complete line of puppy recipes with Large and Giant Breed Puppy Health and Small and Mini Breed Nourish Puppy Health recipes addressing the size considerations of these breeds.

"My puppy Kenya is doing so well on Holistic Select that I would never consider feeding her anything else. Her coat is luxurious. Her eyes are as clear as they can be and she is full of energy. Her muscle tone is so dense and defined; she is the picture of health, and I attribute most of that to what I am feeding her," said Toby F.

"We know that those who embrace a holistic lifestyle care deeply about the food they feed their pets," said Tim Callahan, CEO of WellPet. "We designed Holistic Select to meet the critical standards of these pet owners, who believe it's in their power to achieve a better, healthier and longer life for their dogs and cats."

Holistic Select offers a wide variety of canned and dry products that cater to every pet's specific nutritional needs. The line's eye-catching and distinctive color palate features a mandala with a dog and cat placed squarely at the center, as if in an energy burst. The logo represents that the animal's health is most important in creating the Holistic Select recipes.

The Holistic Select website has also been relaunched to appeal to holistically-minded consumers and offers even more opportunities for them to interact and share with the brand through the Holistic Pet Community. The new website centers on Holistic Select's distinctive new look and color palate, and provides more detailed information about Holistic Select including an interactive ingredient dictionary. The company plans to roll out new tools in the coming months. The site is now more intuitive and educational, easier to use, and most importantly, makes it easier for visitors to find what they are looking for and more likely to discover and learn new things as well.

What to Watch: Mary Queen of Shops

Mary Queen of Shops
Wednesdays 9:00pm EST BBCA
(check your local listings for re-broadcasting)

This show features Mary Portas, who's well known for her work in the Retail industry, working with small boutiques owners to help them revitalize their poorly performing shops in the UK. Unlike, all the other fashionista shows, I like this one because it's business based but also has plenty of high-end fashion to show. Mary has a no nonsense approach, she goes into the shops and tell them how it is which doesn't always mesh well with those she's trying to help, but she is there to help them turn their businesses around.

Gal On The Go: A Tip for Cleaner Dishes

by Style and Focus Lifestyle PR

What busy woman wants to come home and clean? Especially after working all day but you can't let your home become dirty and disgusting. Whether we want to admit it or not, Mom was right, cleaning a little bit everyday really makes a difference.

Cleaning Tip:

Pre-soak your dishes. We've all left dishes in the sink the night before or for some a couple of days resulting in dishes that are hard to clean from dried on food. To cut down your cleaning time, place dishes in a sink of hot soapy water and let them sit for a few minutes. It will make the dishes easier to clean no matter if you're hand washing or using a dishwasher. Also, while the dishes are soaking you can tackle a few quick chores (sweep the kitchen, vacuum the living room, etc) to knock off a few more things from your to do list.

News Bites: Interracial Couple Denied Marriage License

It's so horrible that someone would use their racist views to deny someone else their happiness. It's so sad that things like this still go on.

HAMMOND, La. (MSN) - A Louisiana justice of the peace said he refused to issue a marriage license to an interracial couple out of concern for any children the couple might have.

Keith Bardwell, justice of the peace in Tangipahoa Parish, says it is his experience that most interracial marriages do not last long.

Neither Bardwell nor the couple immediately returned phone calls from The Associated Press. But Bardwell told the Daily Star of Hammond that he was not a racist.
