Friday's Happy Hour Drink: Pink Grapefruit Cocktail

Here's a drink you might want to try for your summer parties or just for a girls' night in: Pink Grapefruit Cocktail. It's really good. One time I used ruby red instead of pink for a different taste.

Pink Grapefruit Cocktail from Alexandra Guarnaschelli (Food Network)

Ingredients:
3 1/2 ounces fresh pink grapefruit juice
1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice
1/2 ounce orange liqueur
2 ounces vodka
Garnish: grapefruit wedge

Directions:
1. Shake the grapefruit and lemon juice, orange liqueur, vodka and 1 tablespoon crushed ice in a cocktail shaker.

2. Add a touch more fruit juice or vodka to taste.

3. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with grapefruit. Enjoy!

In Rememorance: Rue McClanahan

It's so sad to hear about Rue McClanahan passing away yesterday. I would like to wish her family all the best.

Also like to include a late condolence for Gary Coleman.

Friday Fashion Pick: Day to Night White Dress

Who says you have to spend a lot of money on a pretty summer dress? Not me, that's for sure.

To wear for Day, pair this anything but simple white dress with a denim jacket, flats or flip flops and a handbag or tote for the Americana look. Take this dress from day to night by throwing on a pair of sexy strappy heels, some jewelry and a clutch and your ready for a fun night out.

What Do You think of the New Cooking Channel?

Have you been watching the new Cooking Channel (formerly Fine Living Channel)? It's another channel for us foodies to watch. The channel combines shows from the Food Network, the former Discovery Home channel and the former Fine Living channel.

I really like it, I get to see different cooks and chiefs that I haven't seen before and a few I have seen (but they no longer showed). I've already found a few recipes that I want to try out.

If you're watching the Cooking Channel, let us know what you think?

Fitness Tip: Do Something Active Every Day

On non-workout days, do something to stay active. It doesn't have to be intense, just a little daily activity. It will make it easier to stay motivated. Plus, these little things add up over time. Here are a few suggestions:

- Walking the dog

- Take the stairs instead of the escalators at the mall

- Doing calorie burning housework (vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, etc.)

- Dancing to your favorite music

- Riding your bike

- Play a game or two on the Wii

- Gab with the girls while walking in the park
