Why do we accept negative behavior?

Commentary

Lately, it seems like we are rewarding people who do something bad or negative for instance Ms. USA Tara Connor got to keep her crown and she recently walked down a runway during fashion week with Ms. Teen USA. Justin Timberlake just confessed of his past marijuana use but that didn't deter him from being named the host of Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award 07. Also, why is it that some rap stars promote negative behaviors and get in trouble and they get more fans and money. Lindsay is suppose to be in rehab but seems to be out and about all the time.

Last night's Showbiz Tonight's topic was the strong influence that Paris, Lindsay, Britney and Nicole have and how young girls look up to them in every way. One of the host says "he has been trying to get Paris to go away but it doesn't seem to be working". These four women do something wrong and there are no consequences to their actions and some of the young girls that look up to them see that they can do something wrong and nothing bad will happen to them too.

We reward them with magazine covers, exclusive interviews, more money, etc. If magazines stop accepting pictures of them then their pictures would be worth nothing and fans actually make them own up to their negative behavior instead of supporting them. Maybe they would think about things they do or might do. We need to stop giving them the attention they are seeking. So, I will not do any more articles on Paris, Lindsay, Britney or Nicole.

There are young stars such as Anne Hathaway, Raven Symone, Amanda Bynes, Michelle Williams and Jessica Alba who do not get in any trouble and the media doesn't really promote that, they only follow the ones who get in trouble.

When did we start accepting bad behavior and why do we reward those who do something bad?
