Trend: Bars IN and Nightclubs OUT at least for a few

by Lifestyle Guru

A quiet new trend is happening, some of the 20-somethings are bypassing the trendy nightclubs and are heading to bars, pubs and restaurants. Many are tired of waiting in line for the door person to look them over and deem them good enough to enter. Also, some of the young professionals I interviewed say they just want a place to mingle and catch up with friends after work.

The night clubs may not notice a few people missing from their lines but the bars, pubs and restaurants are taking notice and are hiring professional bartenders to make and create trendy drinks and including new menu items to attract the young and hip. One young woman, I spoke with said "highschool is over and there shouldn't be a popularity contest to enter a nightclub and that's why I love the casual atmosphere of going to bars."

A friend of mine that lives in NYC says she has noticed an increase of twentysomethings going to bars afterwork. She likes to go with co-workers to 4-star hotel bars to relax and people watch.
