Style and Focus News Bites: Emma Watson Teams with People Tree to Create Clothing Line

Late condolences to the families of Patrick Swayze and Sen. Edward Kennedy.

Emma Watson is teaming up with People Tree, a fair trade fashion company, to create a clothing line called "Love From Emma". All proceeds made from the collection will be donated to the People Tree Foundation. "I wanted to help People Tree produce a younger range because I was excited by the idea of using fashion as a tool to alleviate poverty and I knew it was something I could help make a difference with", she says.

"I think young people like me are becoming increasingly aware of the humanitarian and environmental issues surrounding fast fashion and want to make good choices but there aren't many options out there".

Emma acting as creative advisor for People Tree will launch her collection in late February 2010. The collection is a spring summer line featuring 26 women's and 15 men's styles also including a small selection of accessories. The collection will not only use 100% organic and Fair Trade Certified cotton, but will be hand made by Fair Trade groups.
