Why Isn't Tom Welling a Bigger Star?

The other day I watched the 7th season premiere of Smallville (which was very good) and I was wondering why Tom Welling wasn't a bigger star? and why is he not featured in more movies? He would be great in action movies as well as in romantic comedies. I'm sure he doesn't want to be stuck in viewer's mind as only Clark Kent. Daniel Radcliffe is a good example of a transitional actor because he's no longer seen as just Harry Potter, fans are able to see him as other than that popular character.

Since, I don't represent him I can only just give my opinion. I think to keep his name out there he (his publicist) should try to schedule a few interviews with popular talk shows such as The Tyra Banks Show, Regis & Kelly, The Today Show, etc. or have him featured in a few magazines such as Detail, Men's Health, Cosmopolitan, GQ, etc. to promote him or at least promote the 7th season of Smallville. They don't have to over promote him but just at least promote him (career wise, I prefer when celebrities keep their personal life private) or the show.

I think Tom Welling is more of a privet quiet person and he has prioritys like family first then tv,movies ect. He seems to take his work seresly and maybe very coshis on what he stars in. And look what the poperotzie does to people he doen't like that he thinks on a personal level in life and doesn't just jump at any movie,tv show ect that comes his way he thinks about his family then he makes a move to what comes his way so he doen't mess up in his life or work like others have in the past. Rumors say he is Superman in the new Justice League movie. If so, he will break out into being a bigger star.

Regardless of that, Welling could be great in a Ted Bundy, American Psycho, type role. We get glimpses of that whenever Clark is on red kryptonite. Personally, I find it much more effective than his "nice guy" Clark role.

Jr I agree with you on how Tom Welling does a great job of playing a bad guy on Smallville.

He has a lot of talent. Hopeful he will not get passed over for roles once Smallville is over.
