Monday - Saturday 5:30 PM - 3:30 AM

Mahiki Nightclub is one London's trendiest and hottest tiki clubs where some of London's elite such as Princes William and Harry, Lady Victoria Hervey, Holly Branson (daugther of Sir Richard Branson) are visiting. Recently, Kate Middleton and her sister Philippa “Pippa” Middleton were photographed leaving Mahiki. Even Hollywood stars such as Mischa Barton and Madonna have ventured in. The after party for the 2007 Classical Brit Awards was also recently held there in May.

Mahiki is owned and created by Piers Adams and Nick House. This popular club opened it's doors in November 2006. The club was designed and decorated by London-based tiki outfitters Cheekytiki. The menus were designed by Tiki Racer.

Mahiki is split in between two floors, upstairs is dark and elegant, as for downstairs it has a desert island theme, where the dj accepts requests all night long. What's unique is that there is no guest list, but it's still a nightclub so dress to impress and wait patiently in line. The vibe of the club is a relaxing environment where people can go and have fun. Mahiki is seen as the classy way to party.

A description from their press release:

"Mahiki, is the ultimate destination for the cocktail lover. A ‘treasure island’ illustrated menu features classic and new innovations, cocktails for one or cocktails to share such as Lover's Cup and their signature drink, Mahiki."

Trend: Bars IN and Nightclubs OUT at least for a few

by Lifestyle Guru

A quiet new trend is happening, some of the 20-somethings are bypassing the trendy nightclubs and are heading to bars, pubs and restaurants. Many are tired of waiting in line for the door person to look them over and deem them good enough to enter. Also, some of the young professionals I interviewed say they just want a place to mingle and catch up with friends after work.

The night clubs may not notice a few people missing from their lines but the bars, pubs and restaurants are taking notice and are hiring professional bartenders to make and create trendy drinks and including new menu items to attract the young and hip. One young woman, I spoke with said "highschool is over and there shouldn't be a popularity contest to enter a nightclub and that's why I love the casual atmosphere of going to bars."

A friend of mine that lives in NYC says she has noticed an increase of twentysomethings going to bars afterwork. She likes to go with co-workers to 4-star hotel bars to relax and people watch.
