Cafe Lalo

If you are planning on taking a trip to NYC make sure you stop by Cafe Lalo. It's an adorable and quaint little cafe located on the Upper West Side. It's a great place to go for a casual date or to meet up with friends for brunch or before going to the movie or theater.

Cafe Lalo is known for it's large array of desserts, salads and sandwiches, speciality coffees and drinks. The cafe is also known for it's cameo in the movie " You've Got Mail" starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan.

Simply Desserts has been rated one of the top bakeries in the Pacific Northwest region for over twenty years. They make all their desserts (cakes, tortes, pies, cookies, brownies and more) from scratch with premium quality, all-natural ingredients.

They have a long list of desserts but here is small list of what of what I tried:

Chocolate Espresso Cookies
White Chocolate Cheesecake (slice)
Strawberry White Chocolate Cake (slice)
Chocolate Truffle Cake (slice)

Simply Desserts give their customers what they want, old-fashioned desserts with a slight twist. The desserts are rich, creamy and delicious. It's a small and quaint little place with a casual vibe, I would suggest get it to go because space is very limited.

What I found to be out of the ordinary was Simply Desserts does not accept credit cards only cash. Which might make it hard for most credit card only people. Parking can be kind of a struggle but it's worth it. I suggest parking somewhere else then walking down to the store.

They do prefer that you call in advance when ordering especially if you have a large order or placing orders for cakes. If you're taking a trip to Seattle, make sure you visit Simply Desserts.

An Uptown Girl's Essential.....

A visit to Payard for dessert. Even though Payard serves delectable French cuisine it's the pastries and tarts that are so mouthwatering and delicious. Payard's is a chocolate snobs dream, I had the opportunity to visit back in February. Everything was freshly prepared and visually appealing.
